AGAP exists to help people explore, express and celebrate faith through the arts. We organise events and activities all year round and are the organisers of the annual arts festival, LENTfest: An Imaginative Fusion of the Arts and Faith. AGAP was founded in October 2006 by Mario Conti, Archbishop of Glasgow and set up by arts practitioner, Stephen Callaghan. Throughout the centuries, the Catholic Church has supported the arts and culture through its patronage, encouraging the expression of what it is to be human through various artforms and recognising art as a gift from the Divine Creator.
AGAP continues this important work today by organising arts events and activities, creating opportunities for the development of skills and pastoral formation, and providing a channel for those wishing to contribute to the cultural life of the Archdiocese of Glasgow. |
