Page 1 of 2 PASSIONATE VOICES: A NEW PLAY BY STEPHEN CALLAGHANAs part of Lent Fest 2007, we produced a new touring theatre production entitled Passionate Voices. The play was written and directed by Arts Project Manager, Stephen Callaghan, and performed by a diverse group of amateur actors in five church halls across the Archdiocese. The play features eight monologues spoken by characters who witnessed the Passion of Jesus Christ. The contemporary language and costume heightened the relevance of a story which still speaks to countless people in every generation. Due to the response from audiences at all six performances, and requests to perform in schools, the cast have been asked to revive the play for an educational DVD for use in schools in 2008 and will also perform their monologues at the Nexus Exhibition in the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in August 2007.
