Following the success of last year’s memorable poetry and music cafe events, come and join us again for a relaxing evening of live music and poetry readings from Stephen Eric Smyth, Mary Hanrahan and Anne Murray.  There’s an “open mic” section for any budding poets to try their wares before an audience (5-minute slots for the “open mic” must be booked in advance, telephone: 0141 554 1333 or e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it )

Host poets:

Mary Hanrahan is currently a primary school teacher who has taught in Botswana and lived in South Africa.  Married with 3 grown up children, she has had poems published in various magazines and journals. Stephen Eric Smyth has been writing and publishing poetry for many years.  He has wide experience of secondary and adult education and is known to many as Br. Stephen Smyth, Marist Brother.  He is currently General Secretary of ACTS (Action of Churches Together in Scotland).  www.stephenericsmyth.co.uk

Special guests:

Sean Murray is an Acoustic/Folk Musician from Glasgow. He play's many instruments e.g. Harmonica, Ukulele, Banjo, Bass and Guitar. "I try to create music which is melodic and interesting, using anything I can get my hands on." He's been in many bands over the years but these days he's going it alone composing andrecording his own music at home and frequently playing gigs in and around Glasgow.
