ST PATRICK’S BAROQUE ENSEMBLE
GALA PERFORMANCE

£7 (£5 concession) (see Ticket Booking section) The St Patrick’s Baroque Ensemble was founded by violinist Paul Livingston in 2009, and has since gained great acclaim for its performances in St Patrick’s Church, Anderston. The group made its Edinburgh début at Greyfriars Kirk in November 2009, and is set to make its Usher Hall début in May 2010, performing the Vivaldi Four Seasons with renowned violinist Ani Batikian.
This Lentfest performance will showcase the talents of some of the UK’s finest young musicians, with a programme comprising string concertos by Bach and Telemann, as well as a Bach Cantata and a Guitar Quintet by Boccherini. Soloists will include guitarist Ian Watt, Silver Medal winner at the Parkening International Guitar Competition in Los Angeles, renowned Russian soprano Maria Kozlova and Scottish string players Ian Anderson and Caroline Sharp, both members of the European Union Youth Orchestra. _____________
Josef Haydn’s THE SEVEN LAST WORDS With Celebrity Readers

£7 (£5 concession) (see Ticket Booking section) Proceeds to Project St Patrick’s, the restoration fund for St Patrick’s Parish.
The St Patrick’s Baroque Ensemble performs Josef Haydn’s The Seven Last Words of Our Saviour on the Cross, a moving meditation on the last words of Jesus Christ. The seven musical movements will be interspersed with seven readings, to be recited by prominent Glaswegians. Angus Anderson, distinguished Scottish violinist and former leader of the Orchestra of Scottish Opera, will lead the string quartet from St Patrick’s Baroque Ensemble.
