Guidelines for Participating in Lentfest
Respecting our ethos
Lentfest has an inclusive ethos and we welcome participation by people of various faith backgrounds, including those of no particular religious belief. Since we believe that all genuine art is a legitimate vehicle for the expression of faith, we do not insist that the content of events is overtly religious. However, as a festival which is organised by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Glasgow, we will not knowingly promote material which would undermine the beliefs and values upheld by the Roman Catholic Church. Lentfest events are open to the public and we aim to offer a programme that is suitable for everyone, as such we will not include events which deliberately promote or encourage bigotry, prejudice or intolerance. The organisers have the right to exclude any event, act, group, performer or individual and no dispute will be entered into.
Fees, tickets and admission prices
We do not normally hire performers, bands or acts unless we have specifically agreed to do so. Normally, participating acts will agree a box office split with the festival organisers as set out in the form (usually 30% to the festival organisers to help with running costs). In the interests of accessibility, and the community-based nature of the festival, we recommend that event ticket prices are kept low. Normal ticket prices are around £5. We will sell tickets for your event but you need to let us know numbers in advance. There is a separate form for anyone intending to sell merchandise such as CDs, books or prints at the festival. It is entitled, “Commercial Sales at Lentfest“. It can be obtained by sending an e-mail to lentfest@agap.org.uk or via this link.
Advertising and publicity
If you would like your event to be included in the Lentfest programme, you must provide us with a description of it via this form and submit a publicity image. Your publicity image can be submitted electronically to
You must also use the Lentfest Logo on any publicity which you produce for your own event. This can be obtained by sending an e-mail to lentfest@agap.org.uk or via www.agap.org.uk
lentfest@agap.org.uk We like to use photos from events in publicity relating to Lentfest and AGAP. If you have any objections to this, please advise us in writing.
Performing Rights
Lentfest operates under a festival license which is issued by the Performing Rights Society for Music. All performers who use music at the festival, whether it is played live or pre-recorded, must be declared on a form, which we will provide. This is to ensure that the rights of musicians are protected.
Help and Assistance
This form provides you with the opportunity to request assistance with various aspects of your event, such as finding a suitable venue or organising hospitality and we will do our best to assist you but need to be well informed so the sooner you submit your form the better. The person filling in the form takes responsibility for the event.
These guidelines are normally sufficient reference material for anyone taking part in Lentfest but a more extensive Terms and Conditions document can be downloaded here.
Lentfest is organised by AGAP, which is a part of the Archdiocese of Glasgow, a charity registered in Scotland no: SCO18140.
