Lentfest 2012: Alessandra Pompili – The Way of the Cross

This outstanding piano concert combines the performance of Franz Liszt’s score of the Way of the Cross with the projection of the pictures that inspired its composition: the 14 Stations of the Cross by German painter Friedrich Overbeck; thus bringing together the reflection of two artists and friends on the last hours Jesus spent on earth.
Alessandra is a pianist interested in innovative programmes, and in particular in classical and contemporary religious music for piano solo. She has performed extensively in England, Italy, Hungary and the U.S.A. and co-operates since 2006 with Vatican Radio both as a solo performer and as producer of classical music series.
