Chant for Today: the Mass and the Prayer of the Church

Concluding with Sunday Vespers at 4pm
ALL are welcome to attend the liturgical services.
Holy Communion will be distributed under the usual conditions.

A 2-day introduction to the singing of the Mass according to the principles embodied in the Missal and other official liturgical books (especially the Gradual) followed by an actual celebration of the Mass with those chants from the Missal and the Graduale Parvum – a collection of “Proper” (as opposed to “Ordinary”) Mass chants introduced at the weekend. Concluding with celebration of Sunday Vespers.

The Blessed John Henry Newman Institute for Liturgical Music is a new venture by the Fathers of the Birmingham Oratory in association with the Maryvale Institute under the joint patronage of Archbishop Bernard Longley of Birmingham and James MacMillan, the celebrated Catholic Composer.
