Martin Jones

Martin Jones

Once Christened in his younger years by folk legend Danny Kyle as the “Brat from Sugartown”, singer-songwriter Martin Jones returns to Lentfest for the fifth time to share his music! Drawing upon the influence of Hank Williams and Steve Earle, Eric Bibb and Billy Joe Shaver, with songs in both English and Spanish, Martin’s musical style ranges from Americana to folk, country, blues and Hispanic. He is a regular at Celtic Connections Glasgow and was a finalist in the Billy Kelly songwriting award in 2008 at Oran Mor. Martin has also played at the Acoustic Butterfly at the Butterfly and Pig in Glasgow and raised funds for his home parish with a CD of hymns and songs. With a knack for getting you singing along, clapping and generally feeling good, Martin’s past concerts have been well received.
