E-News August 2010

Dear everyone,

Arts in Autumn is taking shape and we are getting our programme organised for 2010. Please see below our provisional events list and dates.

We are also holding Open Auditions for the Theatre Productions and anyone over 16 is welcome. More information on that is below. If you, or anyone you know, is interested in helping out backstage or unloading and packing up equipment, please contact us. It would be invaluable experience for any student wanting to work in theatre or film.

Auditions for AGAP Theatre

AGAP are holding Open Auditions for the Arts In Autumn productions, “Pure Dead Dangerous” and “Going for Broke on Jesus: The Bob Park Story” on
Monday 9th and Thursday 12th August 2010 at 7.30pm in
St Michael’s Church Hall, 1350 Gallowgate, G31 4DJ
A full character list and details of the parts available can be downloaded from the website: www.agap.org.uk

It is possible for actors to be cast in both plays as the rehearsals and performances will be held at different times. It is not necessary to prepare an audition piece, but specific requests can be made to do this if desired. Sections of the script will be given to you. You may also be asked to take part in a group activity. First-time performers are very welcome. Auditions are informal.

REHEARSALS:
Due to the format of the play, rehearsals for “Pure Dead Dangerous” may be negotiated by the director with the actors involved. The rehearsals for “Going for Broke on Jesus” will be held on Monday and Thursday evenings at 7.30pm in St Michael’s Church Hall, Parkhead and commence the week beginning 30th August.
If you are interested, please contact 0141-554-1333 or info@agap.org.uk

PROVISIONAL PERFORMANCE DATES:
Any 4 evenings during 14th – 17th Oct 2010

The Living Rosary
Drama Workshops & Performance

Are you in a prayer or rosary group? We are offering a workshop plan to develop personal prayer and devotional use of the rosary by young people through drama. Each workshop will focus on a particular mystery of the rosary and there will be two performances of the outcome presented on the Sanctuary at St Michael’s Church, Parkhead on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th October 2010.
We hope that people in prayer groups will come along to either evening to pray the rosary in a different way with the young people who have taken part in the workshops.
