An Imaginative Fusion of Arts and Faith
LENTfest was instituted as a pilot project in 2007, and due to its growing success, has become the annual Christian Arts Festival hosted by the Archdiocese of Glasgow, providing a variety of events in parishes, schools and beyond, across the Greater Glasgow area. LENTfest includes concerts, theatre productions, film screenings, art exhibitions, educational and liturgical events and has attracted Christians from various denominations and non-Christians to take part in arts events with an underlying Christian ethos. Through this festival, the Archdiocese has rekindled something of the Church’s history as patron to the arts, sharing faith in the wider community in an attractive way, with poster campaigns on buses and public places and leaflets in coffee shops and cultural venues across Glasgow.
