PILGRIM OF HOPE

Written & Performed by Stephen Callaghan

Scott is taking a day off work.  He’s just feeling a bit “bleuch”.  Amidst the problems of the world, Hope seems quite elusive and so he goes in search of it.  A quest begins that will take him through an array of quirky characters and situations as he attempts to answer the question: where does one find Hope today? Oh, and without forgetting the shopping before he goes back to his pregnant wife.

Stephen Callaghan’s brand new comedy play tells an uplifting story of an everyday man, Scott Adams, who goes in search of Hope.  Trouble is – where does one find Hope today?  Pilgrim of Hope is a one-hour play that has all the elements of a classic folktale but set amidst the people and problems of our present time.  Developed for the Jubilee Year of Hope, it is set to visit the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025 and to tour parishes and schools nationally.  It is the third solo show by writer-performer Stephen Callaghan (“Pew With a View” 2018 and “Oggie! Oggie! Oggie!” 2023) as he takes on multiple character roles to tell this funny, energetic story about life, death and air-fryers and one man’s search for hope. Enquire now to book for your secondary school or parish/community venue! Available from Spring 2025.
